Shopify adds channel mapping so merchants can send different product titles and fields to Google, YouTube, and other channels

by | Nov 4, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

Shopify launched channel mapping, which lets merchants decide what product, variant, and metafield data each sales channel gets without touching the product details on their online store. A merchant could keep a short brand-focused title on its storefront while sending Google and YouTube a longer one that combines the title, color, and key features, or point a color metafield straight to Google’s color field. Each rule applies to every product published on that channel, though merchants can still override the values for individual products through a bulk editor. Most sales channels support it, but Shop and Shopify Collective don’t, and prices can’t be remapped.
