Daytona, a startup that gives AI agents their own cloud computers, raised $60 million in Series B funding at a $1 billion valuation in a round led by FirstMark Growth, with Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke among its individual investors. Unlike standard cloud servers, Daytona’s environments start in milliseconds, keep their state while paused, can be cloned for parallel work, and disappear once a task is done. They can run Linux, Windows, macOS, or GPU workloads, so agents can do things like test Mac apps or operate CAD software. Meta, Cohere, Postman, and n8n are among Daytona’s customers, and the company says its revenue has grown about 25-fold since January. Writer, which ran its own sandboxes until it hit 20,000 a day, set up 300,000 in a single month after switching to Daytona.
