Twill, Clay, Zocdoc and Spellbook set rules against AI-written workplace messages as bosses tire of reading staff workslop

Companies including Twill, Clay, Zocdoc and Spellbook have written rules to limit AI-generated messages at work, after employees began sending bosses emails and Slack posts copied straight from chatbots, according to Business Insider. Twill CEO Michelle Volberg told staff to stop writing to her “like a robot” after giving her 10-person company Claude, and now lets them use AI to brainstorm but not to write internal messages. Spellbook and FischTank PR are stricter with outside contacts, since Spellbook requires customer messages to be written by hand and FischTank runs anything sent to clients or reporters through an AI detector. FischTank founder Eric Fischgrund fired one employee last year who kept using AI for banned work after a confrontation and a warning.
