TikTok counted 189 million monthly active users across the EU in the first half of 2026, up 9 million over the six months, according to its latest transparency report under the Digital Services Act. The number falls short of the 200 million EU users TikTok claimed in a blog post last September, a milestone its official disclosures still don’t show it reaching. Human moderation has gone the other way, with 3,738 staff now covering the region against 6,354 in October 2024, a cut of roughly 41% even though TikTok added 64 moderators since the second half of last year. The company pulled about 104 million uploads for policy violations over the same six months, and 94.1% of those came down through automated systems that no person reviewed.
