OpenAI hired Patreon co-founder Sam Yam, who co-founded the membership platform more than 13 years ago and served as its CTO, to lead a new team called Creator Product, and he’s bringing Patreon’s former head of product Drew Rowny and former head of engineering Shannon Ma with him. Yam said on X that the group will build its tools with creators and give them early access, and he pointed to OpenAI’s DevDay in San Francisco on September 29 for a first look, though neither he nor OpenAI has said what the products will be.
