Veeda AI, a Toronto startup building world models for physical AI, has raised more than $90 million in seed funding from Radical Ventures and Khosla Ventures, according to The Logic. Sanja Fidler is the CEO, and she announced her exit from Nvidia last week after eight years there, most of them spent running the Toronto research group that became its Spatial Intelligence Lab. Two Nvidia colleagues came with her as co-founders, chief scientist Huan Ling and CTO Zan Gojcic. Fidler wrote on LinkedIn that the company is building The Matrix for physical AI, giving robots a simulated world to make mistakes in, because trial and error in the real one is neither safe nor affordable. PitchBook data puts the round among the three largest seed deals ever done in Canada.
