TikTok unveiled Buy Direct, a one-click checkout built into the For You feed, along with Shopping Assistant, an AI agent that answers questions on sizing, shipping and stock and completes the order in the same chat. Buy Direct lets a shopper go from a video to a finished purchase with the brand itself without ever leaving TikTok. Shopping Assistant remembers what a shopper is looking for as the conversation goes on, recommends products that fit, and will be built into several parts of the app. TikTok hasn’t given a launch date for either tool, which it’s developing with partners including Shopify, Stripe, Salesforce and Shoplazza.
