Shopify is partnering with Meta to let Muse, the personal AI agent Meta launched on September 8, check out with Shop Pay on every Shopify store, CEO Tobi Lütke said in a post on X Monday. Muse locates products through Shopify Catalog and runs the order over the Universal Commerce Protocol, so merchants are reachable by default rather than opting in. Muse has paid through Link by Stripe since launch, and Shop Pay gives it a second method, one that already holds a buyer’s shipping and billing details. It isn’t one-tap yet, though, since shoppers get handed to an in-app browser to finish, and each purchase draws a credential good for that transaction alone, so the card number itself never reaches Muse.
