Hyphenate, a New York company formerly called Maximor whose AI agents take over routine accounting work for finance teams, raised a $45M Series A led by Nexus Venture Partners, bringing its total funding to $54M. Hyphenate’s agents sit on top of a company’s existing ERP and bank systems and handle jobs like cash reconciliation, invoicing, collections, and the month-end close, learning from a customer’s past spreadsheets, email, and system logs instead of being built by engineers for each customer. Groupon is moving its treasury and order-to-cash work off legacy and in-house tools onto Hyphenate. The company says revenue has grown 86-fold since its $9M seed a year ago, but it gave no number beyond saying annual recurring revenue is now in the millions.
