Shopify audit committee chair Prashanth Mahendra-Rajah, who is currently Uber’s CFO, resigned from the board effective immediately on July 2 after accepting a full-time role with the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mahendra-Rajah, a veteran finance executive who previously ran the books at Analog Devices and WABCO and held senior roles at Visa and Applied Materials, had chaired Shopify’s audit committee since joining the board in June 2024. Board Chair and Lead Independent Director Joe Natale, who himself only joined the board in 2025, is expected to take over as audit committee chair, the seat overseeing financial reporting and compliance, rather than Shopify recruiting an outside director.
