Meta’s new terms make advertisers solely responsible for its AI ad edits from Oct. 30, as agencies pull ads it changed unasked

Meta’s revised business terms, which kick in October 30, make advertisers “solely responsible” for anything its AI tools generate or alter in their ads, even when Meta switched the tool on, according to Trishla Ostwal at Adweek. Until now, advertisers carried that risk only for AI features they chose to use. Agencies told Adweek that Meta is already making edits nobody requested, such as translating copy, adding sitelinks, and turning a brand’s photos into AI images, and the agency Exverus has had to take down running ads after changes got past its quality checks. Meta said advertisers can switch off individual Advantage+ features but didn’t say whether they’re liable for ones they never enabled.
