OpenAI acquired NextSlide, a startup whose software turned prompts, notes, and documents into editable slide decks, and the team is now working on ChatGPT. Founder Ahmed Beshry disclosed the deal on the NextSlide site and on LinkedIn, where he said it closed earlier this year and the announcement was running a few months late. Terms weren’t disclosed, and neither company has said how big the team was, where it was based, whether it had raised outside money, or how the product will show up in ChatGPT. Beshry started NextSlide in April 2025 and joined OpenAI in March 2026, per his LinkedIn profile. He co-founded Caper AI, the smart-cart and cashierless checkout startup Instacart bought for $350M in 2021.
