Meta adds audio links and style Kits to Edits, lets Instagram creators record alongside a reference Reel, and drops Reels linking

Meta added a batch of features to Edits, its video editing app, including audio links that let viewers tap through to the song or sound in a Reel, a trending-topics view for creators above 10,000 followers, more visual effects, and Kits for saving a set of style choices to reuse later. Instagram also launched “Use as reference” on iOS, which lets creators open any Reel under 90 seconds in a small window inside the camera and replay it while recording a response, with a countdown to help them stay in sync. At the same time, Instagram is removing Reels linking on October 28, a little over a year after adding it to let creators chain clips into a series, because it wants to make Reels simpler.
