OpenAI accuses an ex-employee now at Apple of taking more than 100 files on an unreleased product and pitching it to executives

OpenAI alleged in a Tuesday court filing that a former employee now at Apple forwarded over 100 files on one of its unreleased products to a personal account, then months ago presented that product to senior Apple leaders. The new claim delayed a Wednesday hearing in the trade secrets case Apple brought in July, which accuses former Apple staff of taking confidential files to OpenAI’s hardware unit. OpenAI said it’s worried its secrets are now circulating among Apple engineers, citing Apple’s release of its HomeView product this week, and it may file a countersuit. Apple said it has policies to keep new hires from using former employers’ confidential information and has found no evidence supporting OpenAI’s claims.
