OnTrac pilots Dynamic Savings, which lets shippers name a target price and get a discounted label when its network has spare room

OnTrac is piloting Dynamic Savings, a program built on Onrout’s pricing technology that offers shippers lower rates when OnTrac’s delivery network has spare capacity. While comparing their contracted carrier rates, shippers can send OnTrac the lowest quote they found along with the package details, and OnTrac weighs current network conditions, the package, and the route before either issuing a label at that price or declining. Only volume above a shipper’s minimum commitment qualifies, and shippers need existing OnTrac pickups and a minimum weekly volume to join. OnTrac is testing it with select customers now and plans to add more in Q1 2027. FedEx and UPS also change prices with demand, but their surcharges only ever push rates higher.
