Williams-Sonoma and TJX are giving employees part of the refunds they’ve collected since the Supreme Court’s March ruling against Trump’s IEEPA tariffs, according to Sasha Rogelberg at Fortune. Williams-Sonoma said in its second-quarter report that it will put $10 million into one-time 401(k) payments for eligible employees, and TJX, which has received $331 million in refunds, set aside an extra $112 million for discretionary bonuses and year-end incentive pay. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told CNBC in March that companies should pass refunds to workers, since the tariffs were meant to bring back manufacturing jobs. But many companies getting a share of the more than $100 billion Treasury has refunded since May have pledged to cut prices or pay down debt instead.
