Jeff Bezos files to sell 15 million Amazon shares worth about $4.1 billion a day after the stock closes at a record high

Jeff Bezos filed a Form 144 with the SEC to sell 15 million Amazon shares, worth about $4.07 billion at Monday's closing price, under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan he adopted in November 2025. The filing lists the sales as executed Monday through Morgan Stanley. Amazon dropped more than 2% on Tuesday after the filing surfaced, giving back part of a rally that ended Monday with a record close and a market value above $3 trillion. That run followed second-quarter results reported last week, where growth in the cloud business came in ahead of expectations. Bezos received the shares as founder stock in 1994 and has sold Amazon steadily in recent years through prearranged plans while remaining one of its largest shareholders.
