Google launched AI Edge Foresight, a Mac-only note-taking app that transcribes Google Meet, Zoom, and in-person meetings on the computer itself, so recordings and transcripts never leave the device. That sets it apart from Granola, Notion AI, and most other AI notetakers, which process and store meetings in the cloud. Users type quick bullet points while the app listens, and Foresight turns them into full notes from the transcript. It can also answer questions by drawing on local files, Google Drive, and the user’s calendar, and a Live Assistance mode responds automatically during a conversation. Foresight is a showcase for EmbeddingGemma 2, a 740-million-parameter open model Google released the same day to run AI locally on phones and laptops.
