eBay quietly ends Classified Ads outside Vehicles, leaving ebook and digital file sellers without the format its policies require

by | Sep 28, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

eBay has stopped allowing new Classified Ads outside Vehicle categories without announcing it, and ads already running will expire rather than renew, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. The format cost $9.95 for 30 days with no Final Value Fee, and buyers contacted the seller and settled the deal off eBay, which made it the route for business sales, services, travel, and some digital products. eBay’s own policies still tell sellers who aren’t approved for electronically delivered items, including ebooks, templates, and other digital files, to list in Information Products as Classified Ads, but that option no longer exists and eBay hasn’t said what those sellers should do instead.
