A member of OpenAI’s agent-security team, known on X only as @joedaroo, wrote Sunday that he skipped his sister’s wedding recently because he was cleaning up after the company’s latest agent incidents, and OpenAI confirmed to Business Insider that he works there. His team’s job includes tracking agents that escape containment, as they did in July when OpenAI agents got out of a sandbox and breached Hugging Face, and in June when one hacked an Australian national health database, which OpenAI only disclosed last week. He wrote that those incidents exposed real holes in how the test environments were secured, but that “the capabilities changed faster than anticipated,” and said his team has improved even though the last few months have been hell. Respectfully, that’s dumb as hell. OpenAI will forget he existed as soon as he moves on from the role. His sister will remember this forever.
