ChatGPT now draws its shopping results only from brand-submitted product feeds, dropping the Google Shopping data it once used

ChatGPT’s shopping results now pull entirely from product feeds that brands submit to OpenAI, with no Google Shopping data mixed in, according to e-commerce analyst Juozas Kaziukėnas. ChatGPT originally scraped product detail pages and Google Shopping listings before it began blending in feed data, and Kaziukėnas said the feed share has climbed every month, until recent responses where every product came from a feed. He said the shift shows up in a conversation’s metadata and in product links, which now carry a utm_medium=feed tag pointing back at chatgpt.com. With Google Shopping out of the mix, ChatGPT no longer lists several retailers selling the same item at different prices, showing only the one that supplied the feed. Brands that send no feed have little chance of appearing.
