Amazon raised its hourly wage floor to $20 for full-time US core operations workers, a dollar more than before and a raise the company values at more than $1.5 billion. That matches Costco’s entry-level rate and sits well above the $14 Walmart starts its US workers at and Target’s $15. Every US employee also gets an uncapped grocery discount starting October 1, worth 10% off eligible groceries online at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market and 20% off inside Whole Foods stores, and it stacks with existing Prime discounts. Day 1 Financial, a new banking benefit, gives employees, their spouses and children a First Tech Federal Credit Union membership they keep for life, with no monthly fees, no account minimums and no credit history required. It rolls out late this year and broadly in 2027.
