Amazon executives have held internal discussions about a reboot of “The Apprentice,” the reality TV show that once starred Donald Trump, with the president's oldest son Donald Trump Jr. floated as a potential host, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to the Wall Street Journal. Discussions are in early stages, Amazon has not approached the Trump family, and an Amazon spokesperson said the show is not in active development and no host has been selected, but the company would put any new episodes on Prime Video and inherited the show's back catalog through its 2022 acquisition of MGM. They really just can't find enough ways to give the Trump family money! The discussions follow Amazon's $40M deal to distribute the “Melania” documentary, a sum the Wall Street Journal reported was nearly three times the next-highest offer with Melania Trump's cut exceeding 70%.
