Amazon is running Labor Day discounts that land several devices at or near what they cost before it raised prices in August, according to WIRED. The Echo Dot carries a deal price of $55 against its new $80 sticker, up from the $50 it cost on August 20, while the Echo Dot Max sits at $95 after a list move from $100 to $120. Those are likely the same numbers shoppers will see at fall sale events, which would make holiday discounts look steeper than they are. The increases ran $5 to $100 across Kindle e-readers, Echo speakers, Eero routers, and Fire TV sticks. Amazon left the entire Kindle Scribe range, the second-gen Echo Studio, and the Eero 6 alone. The company declined to comment to WIRED and told CNET the increases follow higher memory and storage component costs.
