Amazon is sued by an employee who alleges it failed to fully investigate her report that a coworker raped her on a work trip

Amazon employee Laura Danbom sued the company in King County, Washington, saying it never properly investigated her report that a coworker raped her on a business trip to New York in 2023, according to Lynnanne Nguyen at KOMO News. The complaint says Amazon didn’t interview potential witnesses, questioned whether she had yelled “no,” and kept her on the job alongside the man she accused, whom police never charged. It also alleges Amazon broke Washington’s Silenced No More Act when HR told her to keep the allegations confidential at work. Danbom later moved to another Amazon role, and her attorney said the man still works for Amazon from abroad. Amazon said it thoroughly investigates every report and can fire employees who break its policies, but it wouldn’t discuss the pending case.
