Loop Returns lays off staff in a reorganization that cuts management layers and moves more engineers onto its largest merchants

Loop, the Shopify returns and exchanges platform, laid off an undisclosed number of employees this week in a reorganization that CEO Hannah Bravo said cuts management layers so the remaining staff work closer to merchants. Bravo wrote on LinkedIn that Loop is financially strong and that everyone leaving gets severance pay, longer health coverage, and help with a job search. Loop is narrowing its focus to data from its whole merchant network, which already powers a feature called Shopper Trust, plus partnerships, shipping and logistics for brands on any platform, and the in-house AI it uses to resolve merchant issues. Loop is also assigning more engineers directly to its largest merchants and building products that bring the network data to brands’ growth teams.
