X put a Trade button on Cashtags for US users, through a new Cashtag Partner Program that connects supported stock, ETF and crypto tickers to Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini. Tapping a ticker pulls up its price chart and the posts around it, and Trade hands the user to the partner’s app or site to place the order, so X takes the referral without handling the trade itself. The groundwork went in last April, when interactive Cashtags carrying charts and market data reached iPhone users in the US and Canada. Partners are treating the button as a funnel, with Kraken posting that “$BTC just got a lot more clickable” and Moomoo telling users to trade on Moomoo whatever is trending on X.
