Shoppers who reached US retail sites from AI tools spent 83% more per visit than other shoppers in September, the widest gap so far this year, according to Adobe. They also converted 90% better, after converting 9% worse than other shoppers as recently as August 2025. AI traffic to retail sites rose 71% from a year earlier in September and is up 1,772% since Adobe started tracking it in October 2024. However, AI tools can read only 63% of the average US retail homepage, by Adobe’s measure. Electronics sites scored 79% because they carry setup guides and detailed specs, while general merchandise sites scored 40% because their pages are built mostly around navigation and promotions.
