Shopify shoppers spent June chasing better sleep, old-school phones, and repairs over new gear, according to June sales data shared first with Retail Brew. Orders for kids' night light projectors jumped 661% and sleep sprays and mists rose 632%, with mouth tape up 69%, neck pillows up 33%, and eye masks up 20%. Landline phone orders climbed 277%, corded phones 115%, and basic feature phones 99%, as shoppers turned to cheap handsets while Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices by up to $300 to offset costlier memory and storage chips. Rather than replace whole devices, shoppers bought parts, with phone screens and digitizers up 185%, coffee grinder parts up 92%, and TV stands and legs up 74%, alongside seasonal buys like pet cooling beds up 89% and World Cup jerseys up 89%.
