Salesforce has begun letting customers negotiate custom Agentforce contracts priced against the revenue the AI adds or the costs it cuts. Marc Benioff told investors Wednesday he wants to charge a cut of what the software earns a client rather than a flat fee per completed call, taking $2 on a $20 gain. OpenAI has made similar moves recently, quietly letting some large customers pay only when its AI finishes a task such as a support interaction. Benioff said the flexibility has won Salesforce some of its biggest contracts, though the tripling in Agentforce and data management sales last quarter did little for overall revenue growth.
