OpenAI’s strongest channel for selling ChatGPT to businesses is in-person field marketing, Leila Woodington, its head of B2B marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said at Semrush Spotlight in London. Most people already know ChatGPT, she explained, but knowing the app doesn’t show a company how to roll it out to thousands of employees or win over the several executives who have to approve the deal. OpenAI pairs those events with a curated group of creators it brings in for product launches. Woodington’s team handles launches like the Dots agent by slotting them into a standing schedule of events, with roughly two webinars each month, rather than building a new campaign for each one.
