Meta’s Muse agent could take some pressure off Big Tech’s AI spending as third-quarter earnings approach, according to William Edwards at Business Insider. Muse has topped 3 million downloads and 2 million daily users since its release last month, and Meta’s stock is up 22% since September 8. Baird investment strategist Ross Mayfield called it the AI era’s first major app and said it gives investors evidence that the spending isn’t wasted, which could soften skepticism toward Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon too. However, IDX Advisors CIO Ben McMillan said Meta has yet to show how a free agent turns into ad revenue, and RIA Advisors CIO Lance Roberts expects capex to stay the main question on earnings calls.
