Meta added an option to its Marketing API on October 19 that lets third-party ad platforms assign an age range and gender to each creative in an ad set, so separate images or videos in one campaign can go to different people. In Meta’s examples, a bank points retirement-planning videos at people aged 50 to 65 and shows savings-account videos to everyone, while a clothing retailer pairs photos of women’s sweaters with women and men’s sweaters with men. Meta’s post doesn’t say whether those choices act as hard limits or as hints to its delivery system, or whether the option is coming to Ads Manager.
