Anthropic launched Claude Duet, an agent app for small business owners and other professionals that brings up what needs their attention without being asked, as a waitlist-only research preview for US subscribers on its Pro and Max plans. Claude Duet sends a morning brief from the user’s connected apps, checks them every few hours to flag anything urgent, and keeps working from its own virtual machine when the user’s devices are off. It can set up and manage a Shopify store, run payroll in Gusto, and chase unpaid invoices in QuickBooks, and it can buy things with Stripe’s Link wallet or check out with Shop Pay. Claude Duet asks for approval before it sends, pays for, signs, or deletes anything, and it won’t trade securities or move money between accounts even with approval.
