Meta launched an AI virtual pet app named Waddle World on iOS and Android, but so far it’s only available in the Philippines. Users hatch a pixel-art pet that they can feed and play short mini-games with. They can also tell the pet about their day by voice or text, and it turns each one into a journal entry written in its own voice and illustrated with a doodle, then e-mails a weekly recap drawn from what it has picked up about them. Meta’s app listing says Waddle World isn’t a chatbot or an assistant, has no streaks or scores to keep up, and is meant for users 18 and older. Yeah, keep hiding behind that age disclaimer, Meta. We all believe you…
