Visa is retiring the flag-like symbol it introduced in 2021 in favor of a standalone “V” for some cards and digital platforms, in a visual refresh developed with agency Base Design that also adds a custom typeface called Visa Sans. The Visa name and wordmark aren’t changing, and the full name still appears wherever it fits, but the single letter is built for small screens and other tight spaces. Visa tied the update to shopping that now moves between creator content, apps, and physical stores, and to agentic commerce, saying it wants the brand to stay recognizable whether a person or an AI system is doing the buying.
