Meta launches a WhatsApp Business MCP server that lets AI agents like Claude and Codex set up and manage business messaging

Meta launched the WhatsApp Business Tools MCP, a server that lets AI coding agents such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, and ChatGPT set up and run WhatsApp Business messaging for a company. Developers used to jump between Meta’s Developer Console, Business Manager, API docs, and their code editor to do this, but now they can describe the setup to an agent, which creates the account, verifies the phone number, and registers it for the Cloud API. The agent can also write and edit message templates, test webhooks and sample messages, and catch problems with Terms of Service, payment methods, or Business Verification that used to fail without any warning.
