Meta’s chief AI officer Alexandr Wang said the stream of Muse memes on his X account is part of a push to make Meta “cool again,” in an interview with podcaster David Senra. Wang also credited the posts with helping Muse grow, and the AI agent passed ChatGPT for the No. 1 spot in Apple’s App Store just 10 days after its September 8 launch. Wang argued that Meta was never considered cool despite owning Instagram and Facebook, and that the internet rewards people who take risks, so he posted memes as soon as they came to him, sometimes without thinking twice. Funny how he did it on X and not Threads though. It speaks to where the conversation is actually happening.
