Google tightens gambling ad rules from September 14, requiring advertisers to show “good policy health” or lose certification

Google will update its Google Ads Gambling and games policy on September 14, requiring all accounts that advertise in the category to demonstrate “good policy health” or lose the ability to promote gambling products. Operators with insufficient player protections will be barred, and Manager Accounts with repeated certificate revocations, or accounts under them that repeatedly violated the rules, will be ineligible for new gambling certificates, with the worst offenders risking revocation of existing ones. Sites on free subdomains and domains not strictly related to gambling remain ineligible, and eligible domains must be directly owned and controlled by the gambling business, following Google's recent ban on prediction-market ads in Ohio.
