Google and Xreal started selling the Aura, 95-gram see-through glasses that run Android XR from a tethered compute puck, for $1,099 until December 31, which is $180 less than the $1,279 preorder price Xreal set last month. Xreal said anyone who preordered at the higher price will get the difference refunded automatically. The base model has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while a 16GB, 512GB version costs $1,299, and both are on sale now in the US, Canada and South Korea, with shipping expected to start in mid-November. Users can project multiple virtual screens, plug in a laptop or handheld console to mirror it, and ask Gemini about what they’re looking at.
