Amazon added new account features to Alexa for Shopping, the AI assistant built into the search area of its app and website, letting US shoppers create and edit shopping lists and gift registries and move items between them by asking in plain language. Shoppers can also have it change delivery instructions, pause or adjust recurring deliveries, and answer questions about charges they don’t recognize or the status of a refund. The new features join tools the assistant already had since its May launch, like price alerts and automatically buying an item once it falls below a price the shopper sets. Amazon rolled out the update the same day CEO Andy Jassy told analysts he expects Alexa for Shopping to be the main agent people use to shop on Amazon.
