FedEx is partnering with OneRail, a last-mile delivery software company that covers nearly 99% of the U.S. and handles 80,000 same-day deliveries per day, to offer retailers same-day shipping with two-hour and end-of-day delivery windows plus near real-time tracking. The partnership allows retailers to tap into OneRail's AI-optimized routing and driver network without overhauling their own infrastructure, with OneRail providing a rate card that lets retailers set their own same-day pricing. The launch follows Amazon's announcement last week of one-to-three-hour delivery windows across major U.S. cities, with Walmart and Target also expanding express delivery options as fast shipping becomes a baseline expectation for consumers.
