Fanatics named Block’s Afterpay its preferred buy now, pay later provider, adding Afterpay’s Pay in 4 and Pay Monthly plans to Fanatics.com, Lids.com, NBAStore.com, NHLShop.com and other Fanatics partner sites for everything from jerseys to memorabilia. The deal comes less than a year after Fanatics signed Affirm in October 2025, which put Affirm’s biweekly and monthly plans across more than 180 team and league stores, and neither Fanatics nor Block has said whether Affirm keeps its spot at checkout now that Afterpay holds the preferred title. Tanuj Parikh, head of revenue for Cash App and Afterpay, said the partnership pushes Afterpay further into categories where shoppers arrive already intending to buy.
