Etsy confirms Printify and Printful parent FYUL runs its new digital-to-print test, and sellers get nothing for printed designs

Etsy confirmed that FYUL, which owns Printify and Printful, runs Ventur Editions, the shop behind its new test that lets buyers of a digital download order that design printed on a poster, mug or shirt, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. Designers are paid for the original digital download but get no share of the money when a buyer orders a printed copy of their design from Ventur Editions. Etsy promotes Ventur Editions with pop-ups and links on other sellers’ order pages, a placement no other print-on-demand shop gets. US and Canadian shops selling eligible digital files were enrolled automatically, and the only opt-out covers their entire shop.
