eBay is once again facing a possible cyberstalking trial after a judge reopened the civil suit brought by journalists Ina and David Steiner, according to Liz Morton of Value Added Resource. A settlement reached days before jury selection in March has collapsed after the parties could not finalize a written agreement, putting eBay and former executives Devin Wenig, Steve Wymer, and Wendy Jones back on a path to trial over the 2019 campaign of threats, doxxing, disturbing deliveries, and in-person surveillance that company security staff aimed at the couple. Seven eBay security employees already pleaded guilty for their roles, and the $3M federal fine eBay paid went to the U.S. Treasury rather than the victims, leaving the Steiners to seek damages on their own through the civil case.
