Disney will drop Microsoft's GitHub Copilot in August along with Amazon's Kiro code editor and Q assistant, and bring in OpenAI's Codex, according to an internal message seen by Business Insider. The cuts apply only in the US, and Disney will keep staff access to Anthropic's Claude Enterprise and Cursor, though Claude will no longer be reachable through AWS Bedrock. Eight Disney tech employees told Business Insider they barely touched Copilot, with one product manager saying its output came back “needlessly complex” and needed cleanup, and a longtime engineer saying his own access lapsed from disuse.
