eBay raises its Ship with eBay price cap to $500 and adds local drop-offs as sellers say it overrides business policies

eBay raised the price cap for Ship with eBay, its managed shipping program, to $500 from $200 and stopped automatically excluding sellers who use Seller Hub or eBay International Shipping, according to Value Added Resource. Under the program, eBay assigns the carrier and pays for the label, and it’s now adding drop-offs at local businesses in some US cities, part of a test CEO Jamie Iannone described on the Q3 call. However, eBay’s shipping protection terms still cap coverage at $200, so it’s unclear whether pricier items are protected. Some sellers also say the program is overriding the shipping settings on their listings despite eBay’s rule excluding anyone with business shipping policies, with one finding prepaid FedEx labels on orders even though none of their policies offer FedEx.
