The Lifetime Value Company, which owns consumer brands like BeenVerified, Bumper and Ownerly, acquired Kipp for undisclosed terms through an investor group it led with its founders. Kipp connects merchants with card issuers so that when a purchase is about to be declined for insufficient funds, the merchant can pay a premium to get it approved, with the issuer choosing which transactions to accept and setting its price. Kipp says it can recover up to half of those declines without charging the shopper anything extra. Kipp will keep running independently under its co-founders and plans to use the new backing to sign up more US issuers and merchants.
