Commerce launched BigCommerce Payments, its PayPal-powered checkout built into BigCommerce, for UK merchants, five months after the US debut and as the first market in its international rollout. The service handles cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and buy now, pay later through PayPal, Klarna, and Clearpay, and it adds seven European local methods, including iDEAL, Bancontact, and BLIK, that appear for shoppers paying in their own currency. UK card fees run 1.4% plus £0.30 on Core and Growth plans and 1.2% plus £0.30 on Scale, while Klarna and Clearpay cost 4.99% plus £0.30 and cross-border sales carry an extra 1.5%. Merchants manage balances, payouts, and GBP and EUR holdings from one dashboard, but their payment account still sits with PayPal.
