Best Buy will let international sellers onto its third-party marketplace before the quarter is out, incoming CEO Jason Bonfig said on Thursday’s earnings call. The marketplace opened in the US a year ago under a rule that every seller hold a physical presence in the country, which kept foreign merchants out of it, and Bonfig said the first year brought in new SKUs and categories. He takes over from Corie Barry on November 1. Best Buy also raised full-year comparable sales guidance to growth of 1.9% to 3.0%, up from a range that ran from a 1.0% decline to 1.0% growth. Comparable sales rose 4.1% in the three months ended August 1, led by computing, home theater, and an emerging group that includes AI glasses, health rings, and trading cards.
